Who we are

Luxury Algarve Weddings is the region's premier luxury wedding planner, offering a personal, bespoke and flexible approach to help you plan your perfect wedding in the Portuguese sun.

We believe that every wedding is unique, and that all couples should be able to enjoy the planning of their special day, whilst working with experienced professionals who are as excited about it as they are.

We have exclusive access to fabulous private villas that you won’t find anywhere else; personal contacts with luxury and unusual locations from vineyards to museums; own the region’s leading private catering company; and have close working relationships with the best wedding suppliers and service companies in the Algarve, from photographers to celebrants.

How we do it

Luxury Algarve Weddings offers professional help and guidance in the planning of weddings, helping to save you time, money and a lot of stress. Our experience is essential in reviewing the overall budget and making suitable suggestions, understanding your dream, discussing the progress and implementing your special day.

Among other things we can:

  • Act as a guide to current trends and help define the style of the event
  • Review supplier contracts and manage suppliers
  • Organise the wedding timeline
  • Co-ordinate supplier arrivals and deliveries
  • Ensure the event stays within budget
  • Manage the wedding day, ensuring everything runs smoothly
  • Solve any last-minute emergencies, allowing you to enjoy the day

Fees

We charge a pre-agreed one-off fee for our services. There are no commissions paid to suppliers, and no hidden extras. In short: total transparency. Our fees are normally 15% of your Algarve budget. So a wedding with a local Algarve spend for venue, catering, flowers, photography, music etc. of €15,000 will have a fee of €2,250.

We do NOT charge you a deposit simply to ‘save the date’ - nor do we expect you to pay anything until you have visited the Algarve and we have been able to secure the right venue for your wedding.

Also, we do NOT indulge in a familiar Algarve tradition known as 'double dipping' - charging a fee for our services and then demanding a commission from our suppliers. We think this is unprofessional and underhand. We will charge a fee for planning your wedding and as such will work with the suppliers that meet your brief the best. Good suppliers will always be very busy in the Algarve, particularly in the main wedding season. The demand for weddings is huge, and many suppliers can only look after one wedding per day. Therefore, we need to be able to contract the best and make it first and foremost about the service, not the price. We will of course still make sure that the price fits the budget, but many of the best suppliers in the Algarve will not work with other wedding planners due to the 'double dipping' of commission.

We DO however refund any commission that is offered to us by suppliers straight back to the bride and groom. As the tradition of paying commission is a long-standing one, many companies automatically build it into the price structure. We know where this commission is charged and will still request the commission. We then show it as a discount in your total budget. We often find we save couples a large percentage of our fees courtesy of the commission 'refund.'

Please note: we will accept commission on accommodation if we are organising accommodation for your guests. This is because we will use a professional travel supplier and they will work on tour operator rates, thus getting you a better price. We just wanted you to know as part of our 'transparency policy.'

Payment

You can choose to pay the suppliers through us or directly. Whichever way you choose we will provide you with a copy of all final invoices to ensure transparency. 

We will ask for 50% of our fee on the signing of the contract. ALL suppliers will ask for 30-50% at the same time. The balance is normally due 6-8 weeks before your wedding date. 

Terms and conditions

We agree a contract in advance with you, which is then signed by both parties - you as the client and Luxury Algarve Weddings as the wedding planning service.

This business has been established for over 20 years, and every year completes over 600 events of all kinds across the region, including weddings, parties, social and business events, and private in-villa catering. You can see the website here. Luxury Algarve Weddings only organises weddings which are catered for by Fine Dining in Style, and we do not work with other catering companies in the region. As Fine Dining in Style is the best, why would we!
